Hi, we are Florence Schmitt and Danny Thai.

After had lived and practiced architecture in New York for 10+ years, we decided to pack up our things and relocate to the Pays du Mont-Blanc to continue our work in the luxury residential, concept retail and cultural project world within a new and exciting context.

Registered as architects in both France and the United States of America, we are an international and multidisciplinary design practice. Our studio's work is dedicated to collaborative environments, timeless craft and boutique service.

Every client relationship is tailor-made, and every solution is site-specific. Each project draws from the land, its environment and regional architectural language, and the design process is carefully guided by a great understanding of our client's needs and dreams so that we can create a truly unique product that reflects each and every one of them.

Florence Schmitt, Architecte HMONP

Florence was born in Mulhouse, France. Growing up near the French, Swiss and German borders, she had spent her youth visiting villages and cities of various eras and cultures exploring beautiful architecture and urban spaces, which ultimately led her to her interest in architectural design and pursuance of the studies at L’École Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Lyon. Her journey abroad began with Politecnico di Milano. Upon graduation, she relocated to New York for work and soon after, received her Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Planning and Preservation.

Prior to founding DO.TS, she worked in the offices of Urbane Kultur in Strasbourg and Baird Architects in New York where she had project managed high-end residential and hospitality projects. Florence is a Registered Architect in France.

Danny Thai, Architect AIA NCARB

Danny was born and raised in California, where he was exposed to iconic modern houses as well as radical expressions of architecture. Having an early interest in the creative arts and spatial exploration, he pursued architecture and received a Bachelor of Architecture from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo followed by a Master of Architecture from the Yale School of Architecture.

Danny is a founding partner of DO.TS and Registered Architect in the state of New York. He had worked in the offices of Bernard Tschumi, Skidmore Owings & Merrill, Selldorf Architects and Morris Adjmi Architects and consulted as an in-house senior project manager for Warby Parker Corporation and Mythology. His experience consists of high-end residential both in single family and multi-family scales, commercial/co-working, retail, cultural and mixed-use development projects.
